ELLT
The English Language Level Test (ELLT) is an internationally recognized online English proficiency test designed for students who wish to study at universities in the UK and other English-speaking countries. It assesses a candidate’s ability to use English effectively in academic settings. ELLT is developed and managed by Oxford International Education Group, ensuring high academic standards and global recognition.
Types of ELLT Tests
There are two main types of ELLT assessments:
1. ELLT Global
ELLT Global is used for direct university admission. It evaluates a student’s overall English proficiency to meet higher education entry requirements.
2. ELLT Digital
ELLT Digital is a fully online, remotely invigilated test that students can take from home. It provides a flexible and convenient option while maintaining secure testing standards.
ELLT Modules
ELLT typically assesses the following core skills:
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
Some institutions may require all four components, while others may assess selected skills depending on admission requirements.
Test Format
ELLT is conducted online and is designed to be student-friendly and efficient.
- Listening: Understanding spoken English through recorded audio.
- Reading: Comprehension of academic texts.
- Writing: Structured academic writing tasks.
- Speaking: Live interview or recorded responses assessed by qualified examiners.
The test duration usually ranges between 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the required modules.
Scoring System
ELLT uses a grading scale aligned with international English proficiency standards. Scores typically range from A1 to C2 levels, corresponding to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Universities set their own minimum required levels for admission.
