IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is one of the world’s most recognized English language proficiency tests, accepted by universities, employers, and immigration authorities across the UK, Canada, Australia, and many other countries. It evaluates a candidate’s ability to communicate effectively in English for academic, professional, and everyday purposes. IELTS is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English, ensuring global credibility and high testing standards.
Types of IELTS
There are three main categories of IELTS:
- IELTS Academic
Designed for students applying for undergraduate or postgraduate studies, as well as for professional registration in English-speaking countries. - IELTS General Training
Suitable for migration, work experience, or secondary education purposes. It focuses on practical English used in everyday and workplace environments. - IELTS Life Skills (A1)
IELTS Life Skills A1 is designed for individuals who need to prove basic English speaking and listening skills for UK visa and immigration purposes, such as spouse or family visa applications. This test assesses only Speaking and Listening at CEFR Level A1 and focuses on everyday communication ability.
